G.E.M - THE MUST HAVE MOD

G.E.M. stands for guild event manager. It allows people to find out when raids are scheduled and they can sign up letting everyone know that they wanna go!

EXTREMELY HELPFUL it makes sure that the first person to sign up gets preference to join if more then the amount needed wants to go.

It has been mentioned before and brought up at a few Council meetings, but was ultimately decided that for those participants who want in on a RAID they were to sign up using the GEM add-on. This was to help make it easier for the RAID leader/event promoter to track who wanted in, who was available and how to ultimately divide the loot when it drops from bosses.

I still believe that this decision should stand. GEM 2.24 works without any fuss and is very minimalistic (you only see it when you use it) so there's no reason players can't use it. The only exceptions to this decision should be when "recruiting" potentially new members or running with PuGs.

Okay, as of Feb 29, 2008 GEM info is outdated. Link above does not work.
Latest release is 2.294 released yesterday.

Guaranteed virus free as of writing this. Works on both PC & MAC. (I just installed on a souped up Mac-MINI)
If you try to install older version you find on Curse Gaming you may get an "Addon out-of-date" error and it won't work. To fix that you can go to the Addon Menu just after the login screen where you see a list of your characters.
Check "Load out of date Addons" and you can use an older version.

Otherwise update to 2.294
Just spent awhile struggling with installing old version and upgraded to new and it works great... Hope to save someone else the hassle.

I know we are onto Group Calendar now but I haven't been able to get it to work for a while. Have not been seeing events.
What version is everyone on? Still 3.4.4 or 4.0? I read that 4.0 won't play nicely with earlier versions and that everyone has to have same version now.
Any advice?

GROUP CALENDAR 3.4.4 vs 4.0 UPDATE

K after ongoing tests between Rommel and I today we have confirmed that 4.0 and 3.4.4 are totally incompatible. (Group Calendar Versions)
We are now both using 4.0 and can see each others events but cannot see Kara events that I'm sure are scheduled for tonight.

That leads me to believe that once you install 4.0 you can see any NEW events that get posted but cannot see events that were posted PREVIOUS to when you installed it.

Just thought anyone having difficulty would llike this post.

yeah, 3.4.4 is incompatible with 4.
Not sure what changes there are but I will suggest we all pick up and update to the newest one after tonight. Either way just be there and you should be able to either get in or get on the sublist.
